Simple Steps to Weight Loss Success

CopyscapeThere is an easy way of going about losing some of that excess weight that you have been meaning to get around to and it doesn't necessarily need to involve anything that is tedious, tough or repetitive. So that rules out the gym or any boring diets! So how do these simple steps work?

Well, while you don't necessarily need to go to the gym or restrict your food intake to lettuce leaves and celery sticks, you do have to do something that will be beneficial to your health and by association to your body's weight, or more importantly to its muscle to fat ratio. For that to happen, you can't simply lie on the sofa and expect it to happen just by thinking about it. You do have to do something, but that something does not necessarily need to be tough or horrible.

Step 1: Diet

Yes, you do need to take a long hard look at your diet and see where it is letting you down. It could be that you are eating too much junk food, or too much processed food, which falls into the category of convenience food. Or you could be drinking too much soda and eating too many cookies or cakes. Whatever it is that is wrong, you need to identify it and put it right.

You might get upset at this point and decide that you like your cakes and cookies too much to give them up. Or you might decide that you like to dink 6 cans of soda a day and you are not giving that up. Well, you can do that if you want, but you'd better think about some life insurance, because if you carry on like that for too much longer, your family may be cashing it in sooner than you think!

Get sensible and get a little tough on yourself. Stop drinking soda because it is poison to your body. So is junk and processed foods, however great the ads make it all look. You're reading this because you want to lose weight and get healthy again, so this is how it is going to have to be.

You don't have to go without everything you like, but you do have to go without a lot of it. If you absolutely and positively cannot do without your daily fix of soda, then limit yourself to one can and make a point of enjoying it while you drink it. Same goes for the junk food. If you really must eat a pizza, then limit yourself to one a week and look forward to the day you will eat it and then enjoy it when you do. Same goes for any junk like that, although if you can resist the urge to visit a hamburger restaurant at all costs, then do it!

Step 2: Exercise

Of all the weight loss steps you can take, this is probably the one that will ensure that you do lose weight and stand any chance of keeping it off once its gone. That's because exercise builds muscle strength and you need your muscles to be strong in order to burn more of the calories that you take in through your food. It also boosts your metabolism which further improves your calorie burning ability and as you do more exercise more regularly, you will start to burn fat, which needs to happen if you want to regain that great, slim and fit looking figure.

Step 3: Believe

Okay, the last simple step is to believe that you can lose weight and that you can do it by improving your diet and undertaking to do some daily exercise. Believing in yourself is probably the most important step of all because when you believe you can do something, you can do it. Simple as that!
